In the box
You will also need
Step by step
Eight steps from box to screen.
Place the device
Position it near the screen, within reach of the HDMI cable and a power socket. Keep it ventilated and out of direct sunlight.
Connect the HDMI cable
Plug one end into the device and the other into any free HDMI port on your TV, monitor or projector. Note which port number you used.
Connect the power
Plug the 5V USB adapter into the device and into the socket. The device is built to run 24×7 and draws very little power.
Switch the screen to that input
Use the Source or Input button on your TV remote and select the HDMI port you used in step 2.
Let it start up
The Salah screen appears on its own within about a minute, showing prayer times, the Iqamah countdown and the hall temperature.
Install the Musef app
Install the Musef companion app on an Android phone, then follow the pairing steps shown in the app to connect it to your device.
Set your timings
Choose your Taqwim, or enter your masjid’s own Salah and Iqamah timings. The built-in RTC keeps them accurate, and they survive power cuts.
Choose a theme
Pick Midnight, Ivory, Emerald or Ramadan so the screen suits your hall. You can change it any time from the app.
If something looks wrong
Three quick checks.
Nothing on the screen
Check the TV is on the same HDMI input you plugged into, and that the power adapter is firmly connected. If it still stays blank, try another HDMI port.
The timings look wrong
Open the Musef app and confirm the selected Taqwim, or enter your masjid’s timings manually. Changes appear on the screen straight away.
After a power cut
The device restarts by itself and keeps your settings. If the screen is blank, switch the TV back to the right HDMI input.
